The Village is one of the main sections of the UI and is unlocked by the "go to village" prompt in the Hallway.
Along the top of the box it shows how many crops you have (once you have 1 or more, from either desmelda giving you the 5 truffles, or having unlocked farming), you current number or total villagers, you current population growth (rounded to 1 decimal place), you current used/maximum housing.
The top right of the box shows the amount of villagers, farmers, and zombies you have.
The top left shows how many levels of Education you have, how many houses, and how many ziggurats you have.
Underneath the list are buttons for constructing a house, and constructing a ziggurat.

Farm[]
The Farm tab is probably the one that will be active the majority of the time. It is unlocked by choosing the "Farming" level-up Perk(can be advanced to +2 farming level or +3 farming level, there is currently no known benefit of +3). After unlocking the farm, the green plus button next to the farmer portrait can be used to turn villagers into farmers. Farmers still count toward the population cap, but don't affect the population growth rate. There is no way to convert a Farmer back to a Villager.
New fields are unlocked at 50, 350, 800, 1600, 3000, and 5000 total farmers. Each field can can grow one crop at a time and automated harvesting/replanting is unlocked at 2000 farmers. Note that if the crop storage overflows, stored or newly grown crops may be discarded for no benefit. While each type of crop has a set growth time, it can be sped up either from natural rain or using the "Summon rain" spell (if unlocked).
The two main uses of farming is to convert into materials(food = materials) which is used for a few buildings and quests, or for trading with witches for various rewards. The amount of each crop you have is displayed above the fields, if you have yet to obtain a specific type of crop this reset then its space will be empty until you obtain at least one.
